I provide some historical background and context and explain why it’s crucial for parents to step up and be heavily involved.
I also discuss the related issue of how to teach objectively and honestly about important and controversial issues in society. The Discovery Institute’s Center for Science & Culture has been advocating that approach for the debate over evolution for decades. I lay out several resources parents can use to teach the strengths and weaknesses of evolutionary theory as well as the scientific evidence for intelligent design.
